Obituary of Agnes Payne

Cheshire Agnes Payne, 84, of Wolf Hill Rd. passed away Wednesday July 23, 2008 at Mid-State Medical Center in Meriden. She was the wife of Edwin Payne.Mrs. Payne was born October 8, 1923 in Waterbury the daughter of the late John and Helen (Lynch) Thompson. She was a long time Cheshire resident and a communicant of St. Bridget Church. She was an avid UCONN Basketball and Boston Red Sox Baseball fan.Besides her husband of 59 years, Mrs. Payne is survived by her three sons, Jeffrey and his wife Marisue of Cheshire, John and his wife Tammy of Cheshire and Terry and his wife Sandy of Cheshire; her daughter Ellen Barrett and her husband Arthur of Manahawkin, NJ; two brothers Donald Thompson of Waterbury and Joseph Thompson of Prospect; two sisters Theresa Dorais of Southbury, and Laura Kwetkus of Thomaston; eleven grandchildren Jeffrey, Ashley, Kelly, Sean, Kathleen, Arthur, Colleen, Haley, Abbey, Benjamin, and Molly. Arrangements Funeral services will be held on Monday July 28, 2008 9:15 from the Slater Funeral Home 242 S. Main St., Cheshire to St. Bridget Church for Mass at 10 a.m. Burial will follow in St. Bridget Cemetery. Calling hours will be held on Sunday from 2 to 6 p.m. at the funeral home.
