Obituary of Genevieve Lauer

Cheshire – Genevieve Lauer, 97, passed away peacefully, with her daughter by her side, on June 18, 2017, at Masonicare Health Center in Wallingford. She was the wife of the late Benton Lauer.

Mrs. Lauer was born on April 20, 1920, in Wichita, Kansas, the daughter of the late Henry and Minnie (Price) Gwyn.

Mrs. Lauer is survived by her daughter, Bonnie DiMauro, and her husband, Dr. Louis DiMauro, of Cheshire, and her brother, Eldon Gwyn of Ohio. She will also be missed by her grandchildren, Janine Gianatasio, and her husband, Philip, and Sabrina DiMauro, and her great-grandchildren, Philip and Ethan.

The family wishes to extend its gratitude to the Masonicare staff, especially Jane, Renee, Michelle, Marisol and Becky, for their compassionate TLC.

Arrangements – A memorial service for Mrs. Lauer will be held Friday, June 23, at 10:30 A.M. at the Alderson-Ford Funeral Home, 615 South Main St., Cheshire. The family will greet friends from 9:30 A.M. until the start of the service. Burial will be at Cheshire Hillside Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations, in Genevieve’s name, may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, P.O. Box 2151, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38101-2151.
