Sharon, I am sorry to hear that Dan died. It was a pleasure to have known him and very hard to believe that he is gone. He was a such graceful, playful, man who could turn a phrase and the double-play with equal aplomb. I thank you and him for many fond memories. Best wishes, George

Dear Ort Family - I just want to send my condolesces and to tell you know how sorry I am for your loss. I was just taliking about Dan Ort as I was a student at SCSU 25 years ago and your husband/father/grandfather was my teacher in a very unusual class that helped shape the way I thougth and did things in my years after college. He stretched our minds and made us think way outside the box with bizarre projects and books! He was an amazing man and an awesome teacher!! Laura/Craig my daughter Zoe and Lily know each other from school and softball and next time I see you or Lily I would love to share some great stories with you! Sincerely, Lori Cohen Sheehan

Dear Sharon, Of course I'm deeply saddened that Dan has passed. He was a dear, dear friend to me - a mentor, guide, and inspiration in all ways. He befriended me during a very difficult time in my life by offering me excellent advice about how to raise my son. Dan's wisdom as an experienced parent was something that I called upon frequently during Sean's teenage years. As you know Dan and I had lots of fun teaching together in the Honor's College and we really enjoyed plotting and planning as we tried to find ways to shake up our students and help them look at life with more open and discerning eyes. Although I know it's the end of 'Little Ricco' because Dan is gone, he gave so much to so many in his lifetime, he truly lives in our hearts. He had so many, many more productive years because of your love and care Sharon. God Bless you and your family. Sheila
