Obituary of Catherine Ricci

Cheshire Catherine (DiMezza) Ricci, 86, formerly of South Main St., passed away December 4, 2007 at Bradley Memorial Hospital. She was the widow of Renardo Ricci.Mrs. Ricci was born February 28, 1921 in New Haven the daughter of the late John and Delores DiMezza. She was a long time Cheshire resident, moving from New Haven in 1962. She was very passionate about baking. In 2004, she was contacted by representatives of Martha Stewart for her chocolate chip cookie recipe. As well as baking, she was a very active ballroom dancer and creative seamstress. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother who loved to spend time with her family.Mrs. Ricci is survived by her daughters Gail L. Ricci and her husband James G. Cooke of Wallingford and Melanie A. Pivirotto and her husband Larry of Cheshire; a sister Judith Spinnato of Branford; a grandson Richard Cooke of Cheshire; and several nieces and nephews.Arrangements A funeral mass will be held on Friday, December 7 at 10 a.m. at St. Thomas Becket Church, 435 North Brooksvale Rd., Cheshire. Friends are asked to meet directly at church. Burial will follow in St. Bridget Cemetery. There are no calling hours.
