Obituary of Noreen Gay

Mrs. Noreen Mary (McGrath) Gay, 71, of Ash, NC, formerly of Waterbury, died Sunday December 23, at her home. She was the wife of Carl A. Gay. Noreen was born July 14, 1936 in Waterbury, a daughter of the late Thomas and Dorothy (Lease) McGrath and has been a resident of North Carolina for the past 11 years. She attended Waterbury Schools and was a graduate of Wilby High School. She was a homemaker and mother who enjoyed music, reading and cooking. Besides her husband of 51 years, she leaves her sons, David A. Gay and his wife Bonnie of Torrington, Thomas Gay of Bristol and Gary Gay of Waterbury, her daughter, Tracy Gay of Canton, her brother, Thomas McGrath of Waterbury, 2 sisters, her sister-in-law Dorothy McGrath of Greensboro, NC, her grandchildren, Kristen Rodrigues, Jennifer Gay, Gary Gay, Jr. and John Unkel, her great grandson, Matthew Rodrigues and many nieces and nephews in Maryland and North Carolina. She was predeceased by her son Carl Gay and her brother James McGrath. Funeral services for Noreen will be held Monday at 10 a.m. at the Alderson Funeral Home of Waterbury 70 Central Ave. Burial will be in New Pine Grove Cemetery in Waterbury.
