Obituary of Dr.Lawrence Kelly

Dr. Lawrence Aloysius Kelly, 70, of Sebastian, FL, formerly of Cheshire, CT and Morris Plains, NJ, passed away on February 15, 2008Dr. Kelly graduated from Notre Dame High School in West Haven, CT. He received his undergraduate degree from Fairfield University in Fairfield, CT, his master's degree from Boston College in Boston, MA, and his doctorate from the University of Tennessee Medical School in Memphis, TN. He married his wife Frances in 1961.Dr. Kelly moved to New Jersey in the 1960's. He worked as a research scientist for Sandoz Pharmaceuticals in East Hanover, NJ until his retirement after 34 years. After his retirement he worked as a computer consultant for various pharmaceutical companies, including Pfizer, Wyeth Ayerst, DuPont, and Boehringer Ingelheim. He was a professor at Seton Hall University and Fairleigh Dickinson University and a fellow with the Charles A. Dana Research Institution for Scientists Emeriti at Drew University.In New Jersey Dr. Kelly was a lector and choir member for many years at Notre Dame of Mount Carmel Church in Cedar Knolls, NJ. He was active in Cub Scouts, Hanover Township Youth Hockey, and was a hockey referee. He was an avid Model A enthusiast and belonged to a number of Model A organizations. Dr. Kelly moved to Sebastian, FL in 2004. He was a member of Saint Sebastian Church and was also a member of the Knights of Columbus.His parents, Lawrence and Marion Kelly of Cheshire, CT predeceased Larry. Larry is survived by his wife of 46 years, Frances Kelly of Sebastian, FL; daughter and son-in-law, Kathleen and Richard Feid of Fishers, IN; son and daughter-in-law, Lawrence and Susan Kelly of Pittsburgh, PA; daughter, Colleen Kelly of Cheshire, CT; son, Michael Kelly of Cheshire, CT; grandchildren, Sarah, Ricky, and Noah Feid of Fishers, IN and Allison, Sean, and Ryan Kelly of Pittsburgh, PA; sisters, Karen Turner and Maryalyce Lee of Cheshire, CT; brother, George Kelly of Farmington,CT; and numerous nieces and nephews. Arrangments; Funeral Services will be held Tuesday morning at9:15 amfrom the Slater Funeral Home 242 South Main St Cheshire.A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated in Saint Bridget's Church at 10:00 am.Burial will be in Old St.Josephs Cemetery Waterbury. Calling hours will be held on Monday from 4 to 7 pm. at the Funeral home..
