Obituary of Carrie Harper

WATERBURY - Carrie R. Harper, 97, passed away Friday, April 14, 2017 at VITAS at St. Mary's Hospital. She was the wife of the late LeRoy A. Harper. Mrs. Harper was born January 11, 1920 in Waterbury, the daughter of the late Anna Mae Roke. Raised in Wolcott, she was a graduate of Wilby High School and had worked as an Inspector at Platt Brothers. She was active with International Order of the Rainbow for Girls serving as Past Mother Advisor for Rainbow Assembly #13. As a member of the Order of the Eastern Star she was Past Worthy Matron of Naomi Chapter #23 and Past Royal Matron of Laurel Court #8 Order of Amaranth and Past Queen of Aisha Temple #83 of Hartford, Daughters of the Nile. She is survived by her daughters Lynn A. Fortier of Waterbury, and Carol A. Jennin of Bristol; her eight grandchildren; fourteen great grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren. She is predeceased by her daughter, Joy A. Greider and son-in-law, Richard A. Jeannin. Arrangements – Funeral services and burial will held at the convenience of the family.
