Obituary of Jane Harris

OXFORD- Mrs. Jane (Chandler) Harris, 90, of Oxford, died Monday Mar. 31, 2008 at the River Glen Health Care Center, Southbury. She was the widow of Basil N. Harris.Mrs. Harris was born in Hartford, December 10, 1917, a daughter of the late Abbott A. and Mabel (Watson) Candler and been an Oxford resident since the early 70s, moving here from Marlborough. She was a graduate Kingswood-Oxford School in West Hartford, class of 1937. She was a charter member of the Middlebury Hunt Club. She was an avid Horsewoman and had raised, trained and showed American Foxhounds. She leaves no immediate survivors.A memorial service will be held on Saturday April 12th, 2008 at 10 a.m. at St. Georges Episcopal Church, Tucker Hill Rd., Middlebury. There are no calling hours. The Alderson Funeral Home of Naugatuck, 201 Meadow St. is in charge of arrangements.
