Obituary of Albert Barbato

Cheshire Albert Butch Barbato, 70, of Harrison Rd., passed away Friday April 11, 2008 at Mid-State Medical Center in Meriden. He was the husband of Mary Jane (Gorman) Barbato. Mr. Barbato was born June 3, 1937 in New Haven the son of the late James and Lillian (Proto) Barbato. He was a long time Cheshire resident and an avid Yankee fan. Mr. Barbato was the owner of the Cheshire Pub and retired in 2004. He continued the family entrepreneurial spirit by opening the Rose Dairy in Cheshire with his two sons. Besides his wife of 26 years, Butch is survived by his sons Joseph and James Barbato of Cheshire; his five daughters Cheryl Linke of Cheshire, Cathy Copes of Cheshire, Christine Barbato of Wallingford, Carla Bologh of Wallingford, and Cami Barbato of Cheshire; a brother James; six grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and his close friend Bob Leonard. Arrangements Funeral services will be held on Tuesday April 15, 2008 9:15 from the Slater Funeral Home, 242 S. Main St., Cheshire to St. Thomas Becket Church for Mass at 10 a.m. Burial will follow in Beaverdale Memorial Park in Hamden. Calling hours will be held on Monday from 4 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
