Obituary of Leonard Cunningham
CHESHIRE - Leonard Cunningham, 77, passed away February 6, 2012 at St. Mary's Hospital. He was the husband of Joan M. (Weik) Cunningham.
Mr. Cunningham was born July 13, 1934 in Waterbury, the son of the late Edward and Mary Jane (Raymo) Shaw. He was a Korean War Veteran serving in the U.S. Army. He was a self employed contractor, building several homes in Cheshire. For many years he was employed by the Town of Cheshire as the Building Official until his retirement in the late 1990's. He was a member of the Prospect V.F.W. Post 8075.
Besides his wife of 55 years, Mr. Cunningham is survived by his children Kim Langan and her husband Eugene of Glastonbury, Mark Cunningham of Meriden and Cheri French and her husband Raymond of Milton, VT; his grandchildren Gene Patrick and Kelly Langan as well as Jacob and Tyler French.
Arrangements - Funeral services will be held on Friday February 10, 2012 at 10 a.m. at Church of the Epiphany 1750 Huckins Road, Cheshire. Friends are asked to meet directly at church. Burial will follow in St. Bridget Cemetery. Calling hours will be held on Thursday from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Alderson Funeral Home of Cheshire, 615 S.
