Obituary of Wydell Rood

Cheshire Wydell F. Rood, 81, of Cook Hill Rd. passed away Sunday April 13, 2008 at his home. He was the husband of Janice H. Rood. Mr. Rood was born November 19, 1926 in Waterbury, the son of the late Leslie H. and Ellen (Widell) Rood and the late Hazel Wagner Rood. He was a member of the Bunker Hill Congregational Church in Waterbury. Mr. Rood was employed for 33 years with American Savings and Loan of Waterbury, now known as TD Bank North, as Vice President and Treasurer. He was a 57 year member of the Masonic Order Liberty - Continental Lodge No. 76 A.F. and A.M. and was the Secretary and Treasurer for the Masonic Temple Corporation in Waterbury. He was also involved in many other business and banking organizations. Besides his wife of 58 years, Mr. Rood is survived by his son David Rood and his wife Susan W. of Branford; his daughter Linda Bowers and her husband John of Middletown; five grandchildren Kristin Wildermann and her husband Jeffrey OConner of Madison, Asa Wildermann and his wife Elizabeth of Madison, Ian Wilderman of Branford, Jennifer Bowers of Middletown, and Owen Rood of Branford; and four great grandchildren. Arrangements A memorial service will be held in Village Green at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, April 17, 2008 at Elim Park, 150 Cook Hill Rd., Cheshire. Burial will be held at Evergreen Cemetery in Watertown at the convenience of the family. There are no calling hours. The Alderson Funeral Home of Cheshire, 242 S.
