Obituary of Myrtle McLaughlin
Mrs. Myrtle (McKay) McLaughlin, 96, of Middlebury, formerly of Circular Avenue in Waterbury, died Sunday April 20, 2008 at Waterbury Extended Care in Watertown. She was the widow of Alfred J. McLaughlin. Mrs. McLaughlin was born November 27, 1911 in Waterbury, a daughter of the late John and Etha (Munson) McKay and was a longtime Waterbury resident. She was a graduate of Chase Grammar School and Wilby High School. She had worked as a Teletyper at the American Brass Company and enjoyed baking for her family and friends. She was a member of Mill Plain Union Church, where she was also a member of the bowling league. She leaves her daughter, Wendy L. Beardsley of Woodbury and several nieces and nephews including Judy DAmbrose of Middlebury. She was predeceased by her brother John McKay, Jr. and her sister Doris Allnutt. Funeral services for Mrs. McLaughlin will be held Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. at the Mill Plain Union Church 242 Southmayd Road in Waterbury. Burial will follow in New Pine Grove Cemetery in Waterbury.
