Obituary of Edward Levey
Cheshire Mr. Edward M. Levey passed away April 20, 2008 at the Hospital of St. Raphael in New Haven. He was the husband of Catherine A. (Burke) Levey. Mr. Levey was born February 25, 1926 in New York City the son of the late Edward H. and Mary (Murray) Levey. He was a WWII veteran serving in the United States Coast Guard/Merchant Marine and a Retired Commander in the U.S. Navy. He was a 24 year member of the New York Police Department spending most of his career in the harbor unit. He was a Cheshire resident since 1988 and was a communicant of St. Bridget Church. Besides his wife of 55 years, Mr. Levey is survived by his two sons Eddie and his wife Susan and Chuck and his wife Jerri; his three daughters Cathy Cherepon and her husband Joe, Maureen, Elaine Rinsland and her husband Peter; two sisters Pat Dooley and Mary Lou Walsh and her husband Tom; ten grandchildren; one great grandson and several nieces and nephews. Arrangements Funeral services will be held on Friday April 25, 2008, 9:15 from the Slater Funeral Home, 242 S. Main St. to St. Bridget Church for Mass at 10 a.m. Burial will follow in the State Veterans Cemetery, Middletown. Calling hours will be held on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial Contributions may be made to a childrens organization of the donors choice.
