Obituary of Henrietta Zackin

Miss Henrietta Zackin, 97, of 355 Bloomfield Ave., West Hartford, died Tuesday afternoon April 22, 2008 at the Hebrew Home and Hospital.Miss Zackin was born in Waterbury, July 19, 1910, a daughter of the late Louis and Dora (Brody) Zackin and was a resident of Waerbury for most of her life until moving to West Hartford. She was educated in the Waterbury schools system and was a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania, School of Dental Hygiene, Class of 1930. She was a Hygienist for Dr. Brewster and then retired as Hygienist with the Waterbury School system. She was a member of BNai Shalom Synagogue.She leaves a sister, Thelma Zackin of West Hartford and 35 nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and great-nephews. She was predeceased by 5 brothers, Isador Zackin, Jonas Samuel Zackin, Solomon Zackin, and Ralph Zackin.A graveside service will be held on Thursday at 2 p.m. in Workmans Circle Cemetery, Stillson Rd., Waterbury. Shiva will be observed at the home of her nephew, Nelson Zackin, 109 Stony Brook Rd., Middlebury on Thursday afternoon and evening. The Alderson Funeral Home of Waterbury, 9 Holmes Ave. is in charge of arrangements.
