Obituary of Mildred Edwards
Mildred (Follett) Edwards, 102, passed away quietly on Thursday, June 6, 2008, at the Middlebury Convalescent Home where she had been a resident since August 2007. She was the widow of Benjamin Edwards. Mrs. Edwards was born in Naugatuck on July 30, 1905, the daughter of the late Frederick and Edith Follett. She was an accomplished pianist, having begun her training at the age of three, and was exceptionally skilled at sewing, knitting, crocheting and needlework. After retirement from The Bristol Company, Mrs. Edwards moved to Denver, Colorado, where she lived for thirty-three years. She returned to Connecticut in 1999. Mrs. Edwards is survived by her three children Mildred E. Hansen of Wellesley Hills, Massachusetts; Benjamin F. Edwards of Woodbridge; and David B. Edwards of Bethlehem. She also leaves eleven grandchildren and seventeen great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her seven siblings; her eldest daughter, Dr. Edith Roos, of Denver, Colorado; and a granddaughter, Lynn Margaret Edwards. Arrangements: Funeral services will be private and at the convenience of the family. There are no calling hours. Burial will be at Hillside Cemetery in Naugatuck.
