Obituary of Gertrude Holland

Cheshire; Gertrude D.Holland, 86 of Curve hill Rd. passed away peacefully the Connecticut Baptist Homes in Meriden on Sunday June 8, 2008 . She was the wife of the late Joseph E. Holland. Mrs.Holland was born in New Haven on November 28,1921 and was the daughter of the late Thomas and Jennie (Cahill)Dean.She worked in Retail for the former J.M.Fields Co. until her retirement. She was also a Parishioner of St. Bridget Church. She is survived by 3 daughters, Kathleen M. and her husband Andrew DePalma of Cheshire , Patricia H. and her husband James Leber of Cheshire and Sheila H. and her husband Al Banas of Meriden. 1 sister Dorothy DePalma of the Mt.Carmel section of Hamden .She is also servived by 8 grandchildren Drew, Joseph and Mary DePalma , Sarah Leber and Katherine Caddy, Christopher , Matthew and Thomas Banas, and 2 great grandsons Jack and Griffin DePalma. Predeceased by 2 brothers Thomas and John Dean. Arrangments;Her funeral will leave the Slater Funeral Home 242 South Main St Cheshire Wednesday morning at 10:30 For A mass of Christian burial in St.Bridget Church at 11:00 .Calling Hour will be from 9:30 to 10:30 at the funeral home.
