Obituary of Viola Rek

Mrs. Viola M. (Kolodziej) Rek, 69, of 569 Wooster St., Naugatuck, died Thursday evening June 12, 2008 at the Hospital of Central Conn., New Britain campus. She was the widow of Julius P. Rek.Mrs. Rek was born in East Killingly, Oct. 15, 1938 a daughter of the late Michael and Doris (White) Kolodziej and had been a Naugatuck resident for over 55 years, moving here from Rhode Island. She was educated in the local school system and was a graduate of Naugatuck High School. She retired from Waterbury Hospital where had worked in the Dietary program, with over 20 years of service. She was a communicant of St. Hedwigs Church and a Life member of Crusader Post 1946 V.F.W. Auxiliary.She leaves one daughter, Laura Blair of Naugatuck, two sons, Peter Rek of Prospect, and Edward Rek of main; one brother, Michael Kolodziej of Prospect and 3 sisters, Laura Krajewski and Wanda Burke both of Naugatuck, and Linda Zeranski of Meriden. Her funeral will be held on Monday June 16th at 9:15 am from the Alderson Funeral Home of Naugatuck, 201 Meadow St. and proceed to St. Hedwigs Church for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. Burial will be in St. James Cemetery.
