Obituary of Antoinette Pettine
Waterbury Antoinette Toni Pettine, 94, of Cooke Street, passed away peacefully Tuesday June 17, 2008 surrounded by her loving family. She was the widow of the late John Pettine.Mrs. Pettine was born January 17, 1914 in Ceireto Sannita, Provincia di Benevento Italy, daughter of the late Antonio and Lucia (Pelosi) Guarino. She came to America through Ellis Island in 1915 and was a life long resident of Waterbury. During WWII she worked at Oakville Pin, in 1955 she opened Tonis Luncheonette on Cooke Street which she owned until her retirement. She was a communicant of the Immaculate Conception Church, an active member of the Democratic Party and a volunteered for many years for the American Heart Association and American Red Cross.Mrs. Pettine is survived by her son Michael and his wife Anne Pettine of Plantsville; two daughters Patricia and her husband Deacon Nicholas Diorio of Morris, Susan and her husband Kenneth Wilke of Summerfield, Fla; her two brothers Anthony Guarino of North Carolina and Joseph Guarino of Lakewood, Colorado, a sister Josephine Fiore of Morris; eight Grandchildren and four Great Grandchildren. She is pre-deceased by her brother Frank Guarino, sisters, Mary Dvorak, Florence Ramey, Lena Smith and her grandson Brett Jay Wilke.Arrangements Funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 21st 9:15 am from the Alderson Funeral Home of Waterbury, 9 Holmes Ave. to Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church for Mass at 10am. Burial to follow at Calvary Cemetery. Calling hours will be held on Friday June 20th from 5 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
