Obituary of Ronald Paul
Wallingford Ronald Paul, 60, passed away August 9, 2008 surrounded by his family in Meriden after a courageous three and a half year battle with Pancreatic Cancer. He was the husband of Judy (Bristol) Paul. Mr. Paul was born August 2, 1948 in New Haven, the son of the late John E. and Eleanor (Tomaso) Paul Jr. He graduated from Hamden High School in 1966 and the Connecticut School of Electronics and was employed by Elwin Television (formerly Markman Television) of Hamden. Mr. Paul loved car racing. Coached by his father, he became the 1958 New England Quarter Midget Champion at the age of 10. His love of the sport continued throughout his life. He also enjoyed camping with his family, spending time on the beach especially Hammonassett Beach and Charlestown, RI. His hobbies included going to tag sales with his wife, operating his HAM radio, reading and history. Rons greatest joy was spending time with his four granddaughters Colby, Makenna, Ceara and Eva who lovingly called him Papa. Besides his wife of 38 years, Mr. Paul is survived by his son Joseph and his wife Jennifer of Cheshire; his daughter Jennifer Vanacore and her husband Robert of East Haven; his four brothers John E. Paul III and his wife Rosanne of Branford, Richard Paul and his wife Cynthia of Hamden, David Paul and his wife Cindy of Hopkinton, MA, and Kevin Paul and his wife Renee of Los Angeles, CA; his two sisters Doreen Paul and her companion Evelyn Minichino of Wallingford, and Debra Palladino of Cheshire; his four granddaughters; nine nieces; five nephews, two great nieces and a great nephew. His family would like to thank everyone at Mid-State Medical Center for the wonderful care they gave to him, especially Dr. Gary Tansino and the entire Medical Oncology and Hematology Staff. Arrangements Funeral services will be held on Wednesday August 13, 2008 8:45 a.m. from the Slater Funeral Home, 242 S. Main St. to St. Thomas Becket Church for Mass at 9:30 a.m. Burial will follow in Cheshire Hillside Cemetery. Calling hours will be held on Tuesday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
