Obituary of M. Robinson
WATERBURY Mrs. M. Esther (Clark) Robinson, 101, of 46 West Ridge Drive, Waterbury, and Lake Waramaug, died Sunday afternoon, August 24, 2008, at her home in Waterbury. She was the widow of Kenneth V. Robinson. Mrs. Robinson was born April 24, 1907, daughter of the late Ryce Loveridge Clark and Carrie (Morris) Clark. Her early years were spent between New Haven and Woodbury. She attended Stones Business College in New Haven and Neely Dicksons School of Drama in California. She returned to New Haven and did library work at the Edward P. Judd Antiques Co. for several years. Mrs. Robinson moved to Waterbury where her husband founded The Robinson Co. She was a member of the First Congregational Church for 70 years, where she was active in various church programs. She played the part of Mary Magdaline in the Passion Play for many years. She did volunteer work at Waterbury Hospital. In her early years, she was a Girl Scout camper at Mohawk Camp and also a leader for several years. She won state honors in a speaking contest at the Capitol. She loved nature, hiking and sports. Mrs. Robinson was a member of Lake Waramaug Country Club, winning the Governors Cup in golf twice. She was a member of the Waterbury Country Club and the Waterbury Club She leaves a son, David C. Robinson of Warren; two grandchildren Parker Robinson of Wayland, Mass. and Kimberly Zeytoonjian of Farmington; and five great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by a son, Dr. Douglas C. Robinson of Costa Rica. A private family service will be held on Saturday at the First Congregational Church of Waterbury, 222 West Main St. Burial will follow in New North Cemetery, Woodbury. There are no calling hours. The Alderson Funeral Home of Waterbury, 9 Holmes Ave. is in charge of arrangements.
