Obituary of Herman Newman

CHESHIRE - Herman L. Newman, 89, passed away Tuesday February 21, 2012 at Masonicare in Wallingford. He was the husband of Ruth E. (Pettyjohn) Newman. Mr. Newman was born October 11, 1922 in Maryland the son of the late Wilmer and Mable (Bankert) Newman. He was employed by Black and Decker as a Machinist. He was a longtime resident of Littlestown, PA, before moving to Cheshire in 2008. Besides his wife of 69 years, Mr. Newman is survived by his daughter Karen Smith and her husband Steven of Cheshire; his grandchildren Daniel, Samantha and Katherine. He is predeceased by his brother John. Funeral services will be held on Friday February 24, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at Little's Funeral Home, 34 Maple Ave., Littlestown, PA. Friends will be received at the funeral home on Friday morning from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Burial will follow in Rest Haven Cemetery in Hanover, PA. The Alderson Funeral Home of Cheshire is assisting with local arrangements.
