Obituary of Cheryl Brinker
Southington Cheryl A. (Malik) Brinker, 59, of Pondview Dr. and formerly of Cheshire and Waterbury, passed away Sunday August 31, 2008 at the Hospital of Central Connecticut Bradley Memorial Campus in Southington. She was the wife of Robert D. Brinker. Mrs. Brinker was born December 14, 1948 in Waterbury the daughter of the late John and Elizabeth (Wylong) Malik. She grew up in Cheshire and resided in Southington for the last 20 years. Mrs. Brinker was employed as an LPN at Saint Marys Hospital in Waterbury prior to starting her family. Mrs. Brinker was a loving wife and mother who enjoyed collecting porcelain dolls and Fenton glass figures. She was an avid Red Sox and NASCAR fan who enjoyed reading. Over the years, she volunteered at the voting polls in Cheshire. Besides her husband of 31 years, Mrs. Brinker is survived by her two sons, Gerald A. Jay Brinker and his fiance Colleen McNaney of Haddam; and Michael R. Brinker and his wife Marijo of Bristol; two brothers John R. Moore and his wife Martha of Port St. Lucie, FL, and Robert S. Malik and his wife Linda of Cheshire; and several nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to the Hospital of Central Connecticut Bradley Memorial Campus located at 81 Meriden Ave, Southington CT 06489. Arrangements A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday September 5, 2008 at 10 a.m. at Church of the Epiphany, Huckins Rd., Cheshire. Burial will be held at the convenience of the family and there are no calling hours. The Slater Funeral Home, 242 S. Main St., Cheshire is in charge of arrangements.
