Obituary of Janet Coppola
Janet C. Coppola, 61, of 3097 North Main St. passed away Monday, September 1, 2008 at the Glendale Center in Naugatuck. She was the wife of Alfred V. Coppola whom she was married to for 34 years. Janet was born February 5, 1947 in Waterbury the daughter of Margaret (Reichenbach) Balkus and the late John D. Balkus. Janet attended Wilby High School graduating in 1964. Following school Janet was employed at SNET as an administrative assistant until her retirement in 1994, and then was employed at Insurance Concepts of Connecticut as an Account Manager until retiring in 2003. In her spare time Janet enjoyed reading, gardening, and spending time with her cat Peppercorn. She was a member and past Treasurer of the Bucks Hill Community Club, and The Telephone Pioneers of America. The Family would like to thank the staff of the Watertown VNA Health at Home, and The Glendale Center for their kindness and caring. Besides her husband and mother Janet is survived by, her brother Roy Balkus and his wife Teddi Therkildsen of Wolcott, CT, her sister Kenda and her husband Leon Davis, of Burlington, CT, her niece Meghan R. Balkus of Brookline, MA, and her Sister-In-Law Laura and her husband Rick Occhialino of Henderson, NV.Arrangements- A graveside service will be held Friday, September 5, 2008 at Edgewood Cemetery, 389 Boundline Rd Wolcott, CT at 11:30 A.M. Friends and family are asked to meet directly at the cemetery. Calling hours will be held Thursday, September 4, 2008 from 5 to 8 P.M at the Alderson Funeral Home of Waterbury, 9 Holmes Ave, Waterbury, CT 06710.
