Obituary of Sylvia Sloat
Wallingford Sylvia F. (Foskett) Sloat, 98, of the Pond Ridge community at Masonicare passed away Friday September 5, 2008. She was the wife of the late C.R. Milton Sloat. Mrs. Sloat was born October 20, 1909 in Worcester, MA the daughter of the late Harrison B. and Florence (Durkee) Foskett. She was a resident of Dallas, Texas most of her life until returning to Connecticut in 2005. During her years in Dallas, she was an active member of the Unitarian Universalist Church of Oak Cliff. Mrs. Sloat was a life member of the Alice Chapter of the Eastern Star and a Golden Sheaf Member of the Cheshire Grange. Mrs. Sloat is survived by her nieces and nephews Lewis Beers of Orlando, FL, Phyllis Simjian of Hamden, Jane Miller of Cheshire, Barbara Foskett of Cheshire, Marilyn Labbe of Moosup, Althea Clemence of Southbridge, MA and Alan Foskett of Mansfield, MA and many other nieces and nephews. Arrangements A memorial service will be held on Friday September 19, 2008 at 2 p.m. at the Pond Ridge Building in the Masonic Home complex in Wallingford. Burial will be held at the convenience of the family in Cheshire Hillside Cemetery. There are no calling hours. The Alderson Funeral Home of Cheshire is in charge of arrangements.
