Obituary of Roland Leffingwell

Roland F. Leffingwell 87 of Cook hill Rd, died Monday September 29, at the Mid-State Medical Center. He was the husband of the late Stephanie E. Koziel.He was born on April 4,1921 in New Marlborough, Massachusetts. and was the son of the late Richard l. and Bessie l.Dean Leffingwell. Roland served in WWII 345th Army Engineer. He was a retired millwright for the Rockbestos Co. formally of New Haven. He enjoyed gardening, camping and was active in many local fairs ,but he mostly enjoyed spending time with his family.Roland is survived by two daughters, Sharon and her husband Mark Maynard of Roxbury, Ct. and Susan and her husband Brian Reynolds of Cheshire. A sister Bessie Green of South Field, Massachusetts and Helen Schmaltz of Lakeville , Illinois.He is also survived by 4 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian burial in St.Bridget Church 175 Main St. Cheshire on Friday Oct. 3 at 10:00 AM. Burial will be in St.Bridget Cemetery. There will be no calling hours. The Slater Funeral Home 242 So.Main St. Cheshire is in charge of arrangements.
