Obituary of Helen Pedrotty

Cheshire - Helen Smith Pedrotty, 81, beloved wife of Charles A. Pedrotty, of Cheshire CT, passed away peacefully on September 30, 2008 in the presence of her family. Helen was born on January 29, 1927 in Canandaigua, New York, the daughter of Zanana(Carey) and James W. Smith. Helen was a resident of Cheshire for 37 years. She worked as a librarian at the Cheshire Public Library for 22 years. She was a member of the Cheshire Garden Club, Cheshire Womens Club and the Farms Country Club. Helen was an active member of St. Thomas Becket parish. Among her many hobbies, Helen enjoyed walking, biking and reading. Helens passion was quilting, having displayed many quilts in local events. She lovingly designed and made beautiful quilts for all her children and grandchildren. Helen is survived by her husband of sixty years, two sons and their spouses, Tom and Gayle Pedrotty of South Windsor, CT; Tim and Denise Pedrotty of Farmington, CT; and two daughters Kathleen and Dr. David Underhill of Glastonbury, CT; and Laurie and Jim Mitrano of Needham MA. She is also survived by ten grandchildren: Kyle, Kristen, Lauren, Lindsey, Daniel, Timothy, Candace, Joseph, Lucia and Andre. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday October 4th at 10:00AM at St. Thomas Becket Church, 435North Brooksvale Rd., Cheshire, CT (www.stthomasbecket.org). Friends are asked to go directly to the church. Calling hours will be held on Friday October 3 at the Slater Funeral Home, 242 South Main St., Cheshire, CT from 5 to 8 PM.
