Obituary of Norman Christenson

WATERBURY, CT- Mr. Norman W. Christenson, Sr., 78, of 95 Mt. Vernon Ave., Waterbury, died Friday evening at the Marathon Healthcare Center of Prospect. He was the husband of Geraldine M. (Kraus) Christenson. Mr. Christenson was born in Mogadore, OH, April 29, 1930, a son of the late Henry and Mildred (Phillips) Christenson and had been a Waterbury resident for over 60 years, moving here from Ohio. He was educated in schools in Ohio and was a graduate of Kent State University. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of the Korean War, serving from 1949 through 1953, and retired in 1993 from the Seth Thomas Clock, Co. after 35 years of service.Besides his wife of 56 years, he leaves two sons, Norman W. Christenson and Martin E. Christenson both of Waterbury ad two daughters, JoAnn Timm of Bethel and Linda J Christenson of Amarillo, TX.; one granddaughter, Laurie A. Makarczyk and one great-grandson, Anthony J. Makarczyk, III. He was predeceased by a brother Gene Christenson and a sister, Mildred Steffee. A memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday Feb. 13th at 10:30 a.m. at Blessed Sacrament Church 192 Robbins St., Waterbury. Friends are asked to meet directly at Church prior to mass. Burial with military honors will be in new Pine Grove Cemetery. There are no calling hours. The Alderson Funeral Home of Waterbury, 9 Holmes Ave. is in charge of arrangements. In lieu of flowers, friends are asked to make memorial contributions to Vitas Innovative Hospice Care, 1579 Straits Turnpike, Middlebury,06762
