Dear Jeff and family, My Mother sent us your Dad's obituary. We were sorry to hear that he had died. He and your Mother were always together, so on top of whatever health problems he had, we're sure he missed her terribly. Losing a parent is not something anyone looks forward to, certainly, but it's hard to imagine losing both parents in such a short time. You are in our prayers. When we looked at Al's picture, he looked a little older but that smile was still the same! With his ever-present source of jokes, he was the cut-up of the bass section at Trinity, Nichols, when I directed the choir there. And no matter what they were laughing at in that back row, he'd always tell me I was too young to hear whatever it was! He'd also say that he couldn't read music, and maybe when he started he couldn't, but push came to shove one Sunday morning when neither Clint Reed nor Larry Neumann were going to be there. Your Dad came through with shining colors and proved to himself that he didn't have to lean on Clint as much as he'd thought. Good for him! He was a good man and though we only saw him and Beverly intermittently after they came back from Florida, they both added greatly to our lives. With sympathy, Carol and Carl Cotnoir Lancaster, PA 17601

Jeff and family- I'm very sorry for the loss of your father Jeff, He was as good as they come. He will be missed by his extended family as well as you and yours. I know that the pain will subside one day, but know that it will. My greatest memory of my uncle was a dive trip that he, my dad and myself took to the Bahamas. The funny part was that after three days of your dad not showering, we had to shove him in the ocean with a bar of soap....it was the quickest bath I had ever seen....It seems that he had a fear of sharks!!!! Take care Jeff, and know that our thoughts and prayers are with you.... Andy and Angela Thomas

As well as I recollect, Al was my godfather. I'm kind of a cranky old geezer, nowadays - with no one left to nudge me about life back among family members. Fortunately, I have a wonderful wife to keep an eye on me. But, life and times with Al always brought good memories. No need to wander among details that probably wouldn't mean much to anyone else; but, all the memories are good. He was one of the stalwarts of our family. My father always respected his ability to understand and care for all. I miss you, Uncle Al. Sith gun robh so.
