Obituary of Jane Taylor
Jane S. (Reeder) Taylor, 68, of Waterbury died Thursday February 12, 2009 after a brief illness at Mid State Medical Center in Meriden surrounded by her loving family. She was the former wife of the late Alvin O. Taylor.
Jane was born August 10, 1940 in Saluda, South Carolina, a daughter of the late James and Ammie (Robinson) Reeder.She was a graduate of Duggan Grammar School and W.F. Kaynor Technical School. She was a Food Service Supervisor and Head Cook at Southbury Training School retiring after many years of service. Jane was a longtime member of Grace Baptist Church of Waterbury where she was also a member of the Senior Choir. She was actively involved with the PTA of the Follow Through Program.
She leaves her son Jason Taylor of Waterbury, her daughters, Kimberly Taylor, Deneen Taylor and Lisa N. Taylor all of Waterbury, her brothers, James Reeder of Philadelphia, Nathan Reeder of Jacksonville, FL and Paul Reeder of Waterbury, her sisters, Emmalee Reeder of Waterbury, Rose Eason of Saluda, SC, Ammie Piland and Betty Hayward both of Waterbury, her grandchildren, Avery, Kaylynn, Enaj and Stephen Taylor and Alexis Anderson and a host of nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by 4 brothers and 2 sisters.
Funeral services for Jane will be held Tuesday February 17 at 11 a.m. at the Grace Baptist Church 65 Kingsbury Street, Waterbury. Burial will follow in New Pine Grove Cemetery. Friends may call at the church Tuesday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Grace Baptist Church Scholarship Fund. The Alderson Funeral Home of Waterbury 9 Holmes Avenue has care of arrangements.
