Obituary of Jean Pflueger
Wolfeboro, NH -Jean "Teetee" Stanco Pflueger, 87, of Wolfeboro, formally of Cheshire, CT, passed away, peacefully, on Monday June 1, 2009. She was the wife of the late Otto Pflueger.
She was born on March 9, 1922, in Waterbury, CT, the daughter of the late Pasquale and Lucy (Diorio) Stanco.
Having lived most of her life in Cheshire, she was a graduate of Wilby High School in Waterbury. She later went on to earn her associate's degree at McIntosh College. While living in Connecticut she, along with her husband, owned and operated Otto Pflueger Foundry, Inc. She later served as Chief of Clerk at the New Haven Fire Department until her retirement. Her summers were spent in Wolfeboro since l948. She was a devoted member and volunteered at the First Lutheran Church in Waterbury, CT, serving as church treasurer, a member of the church counsel, and superintendent of the church Sunday school for many years. As a loving mother and grandmother she will be greatly missed by both family and friends.
She is survived by her children, Frederick Pflueger of Portsmouth, NH, and Karen DeVylder of Wolfeboro, NH; her grandchildren, Kurt DeVylder, Anna DeVylder, and Hans Pflueger all of Wolfeboro, NH. She also leaves behind a brother, Robert Stanco of Marietta, GA. She was predeceased by her granddaughter Ashley Pflueger.
Arrangements - A celebration of her life will be held on Saturday June 13, 2009 at 10 a.m. at the First Lutheran Church, 88 Cook Street, Waterbury. Burial will follow in Cheshire Hillside Cemetery. Memorial Contributions may be made to Faith Lutheran Church for Ashley's Camp for Kids Fund, 7750 Beneva Road, Sarasota, FL. 34238. The Alderson Funeral Home of Cheshire, 615 S. Main St. is in charge of arrangements.
