Dear Thomas, Donald, and Susan: Jack Gormley phoned me this morning with the news of your mother’s death. I only met your mother once, when Jack took me to meet her in Naugatuck a few years ago. You and I share a great-grandfather, Thomas F. Gormley. Your mother knew my mother and my aunts and uncles. I enjoyed my conversation with her very much, and I send you my condolences.
