Norm, When I first met you I was five years old. My Dad brought me in for my haircuts. I enjoyed listening to your stories about bowhunting and goings-on in Cheshire. Your shop was a happy, lively place. So many people have passed through your doors as customers, employees and friends. Nearly fifty years has now gone by. You have been cutting my son's hair for nearly twenty years. I had so many conversations with you as if you were my family, and you were. You will always be a fixture in town and Norm's will always be Norm's!

Our most heartfelt condolences, on behalf of my own family, as faithful patrons(Tony Baxter, sometimes Christian), and Cliff Sr. & Kalliopi Podaras(Cliff's Pizza) and the entire family, we wish you peace. He would always greet my husband in Greek and ask about me and my son, Christian. My husband always relayed the sentiments as they were always received with an enthusiastic smile and warmth-it was always so nice to hear......he will be sorely missed.

Jill - I was shocked when I got the Herald today and read that Norm had passed away. I know he hadn't been in the shop for awhile but didn't know how bad he was doing. I always enjoyed coming to the shop and talking with Norm and watching him make all his customers feel welcome. He will be missed, he was a legend in Cheshire. I want to offer my deepest sympathy for myself and my son. "Frank Sinatra"

Jill and family,
We were so fond of Norm-our memories go back to our childhood, and through our children's childhoods. He was always up for a good laugh with us, and we'll miss him. He was good to my brothers when they were young and without a Dad, and our Mom never forgot that.
He fought a good fight, and now he's traveling in RV heaven.
Love Claudia Hearn and family

To Jill & Family, As a longtime & dear friend of your sister Barbara, I've always felt particularly close to the Hoden family, even though we never socialized that much. I remember Norm fondly from my days at the old Waverly Inn and later, Lums restaurant. He was a man who possessed a Great Sense of Humor, always making everyone laugh and feel good. Ginny & I want you and your family to know that our hearts go out to you all, and we pray that God will grant you Peace & Comfort during this difficult time. Always remember, "To Live In The Hearts Of Those You Love Is to Never Die." I know that Norm will live in your hearts forever. God Bless You all.

My boys and I will always remember their haircuts and the fun Norm added with this thumb trick and Boston Red Sox stories. Norm may be gone, but he will live on in my sons' memories. May Jill and Norm's family cherish the fact he created memories for my sons who will smile throughout their lives each time they sit in a barber's chair!

My sympathies to Norm's family. As a kid growing up in Cheshire, I used to go to Norm's. He always teated everyone with respect. My dad liked speaking French with him. I walked into Norm's several years ago, not having been there for over 20 years, and Norm recognized me instantly. That says a lot about his character. I am sorry for your loss. David Audet
