Dear Jeanne and David: We just heard about your Dad's death today, and in reading the obituary, we also learned that your Mom passed recently too. They were two very wonderful people and they truly made a loving and caring couple who showed each other a lot of respect. I always looked forward to seeing them and enjoyed their company tremendously. I especially enjoyed talking to your Dad who had one great story after another to tell. Your Mom, too, was a very special lady and I enjoyed working with her in West Hartford. After she retired from the Town, it just wasn't the same anymore and I lost the confidant I had in her when things got rough and frustrating. Nina and I offer our sincerest condolences to you both. Sincerely, Jim Bubaris

We are so very saddened about the loss of our dear friend, Fran LeVasseur. We came to Simsbury in 1976 where Bill took the positiion of Quality Control Manager for Allen Manufacturing Co. Fran was a metallurgist there, and he and Joyce welcomed us to Connecticut with open arms. We developed a friendship that lasted 36 years...having numerous happy gatherings, dinner parties, visiting their beach house in Rhode Island. They even had our son for a week one summer, and Fran took him to Block Island, where they rode bikes together for the day. I will miss calling him every week, sending him cards, and his favorite cookies--coconut macaroons, laughing with him, talking about the Patriots and other football teams. We are grateful for the numerous memories and the hundreds of pictures over the years and for his "Hero"--Admiral Thomas E. Bass, III, with whom he fought in many battles during World War II. Admiral and Mrs. Bass live near us now in Ruckersville and are also saddened about the loss of Fran. Fran and Joyce will forever be etched in our souls. They were so very proud of their daughter, Jeanne, who earned her PhD in nursing. She was the BEST daughter anyone could ever have. In deepest sympathy...Betty & Bill Ray

Dearest Jeanne and David, My heart goes out to you in the loss of your dear father and father-in-law. What a wonderful, intelligent, and sweet man he was. I will never forget sitting to talk with him just after your Mom passed away. He was so kind and gracious, and had so very much love and honor for your Mom. He was truly a gentle man, a kind man, and it is clear you loved and cared for him so very much. You were such a wonderful daughter, Jeanne, to both of your parents, and you cared for them with all your heart and soul. Your love and your accomplishments must have made them so happy and so proud of you. May God be with you and bring you peace knowing that your beloved parents are reunited for eternity, even as you miss them dearly. Mary Helming and family
