Obituary of Bertil Frenesson
Bertil J. Frennesson, 86, of Naugatuck, passed away at VITAS Hospice of St. Mary's Hospital on Wednesday evening, October 19, 2011 after a lengthy illness. He was the husband of Jean (Honan) Frennesson
Bert was born in Brooklyn, New York, on June 9, 1925, the son of the late Ivar and Maria (Njord) Frennesson. After serving in the US Army from 1943 to 1946, he entered Columbia University and graduated with a degree in chemical engineering. He came to Naugatuck in 1950 to work at Uniroyal Chemical Company where he remained until his retirement in 1990. At the time of his retirement, he was a senior engineering associate.
Besides his wife of 57 years, he leaves his children; a son, David B. Frennesson and his wife, Suzanne, of Naugatuck; a daughter, Susan Frennesson and her husband, Trafton L. Foster, of Tequesta, FL; and 2 grandchildren, Maria A. Frennesson and Robert J. Frennesson, both of Naugatuck. He was predeceased by his brother, Ronald Frennesson
A memorial service will be held on 11 a.m. Saturday, October 22, 2011, at Salem Evangelical Lutheran Church, 14 Salem Street, Naugatuck. There are no calling hours. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. Alderson Funeral Home of Naugatuck is in charge of the arrangements.
