Obituary of Sallye Katrosar

Sallye Katrosar, lifelong Waterbury resident Waterbury - Sallye (Kramer) Katrosar, 92, of 61 Sharon Road, wife of the late Joseph Katrosar, peacefully passed away on Saturday, December 12, at St. Mary's Hospital, Waterbury, CT surrounded by her loving family. Mrs. Katrosar was born and educated in Waterbury, the oldest of 6 children, a daughter of the late Meyer and Tillie Kramer. Everyone who met Sallye knew her as a kind and generous person. She spent her whole life caring for her family, who loved and respected her. She spent many years working in Worth's, Musler's, and the Colonial Bank in Waterbury, CT. Sallye leaves two loving children and their spouses, David Katrosar and his wife Bonnie and Hollye Lew and her husband Larry. She also leaves four cherished grandchildren, Richard Lew, Adam Lew, Michael Katrosar, and Marcy Katrosar. She was the sister of Harriet Meisel and her husband Harry, Rose Madnick and her husband Bert, and William Kramer and his wife Lois. Among the survivors are her sister-in-law and brother-in-law Marcia and Sydney Katrosar, and many loving nieces and nephews. All who knew Sallye mourn her passing. She is predeceased by her brother Joseph "Chickie" Kramer and her sister Marilyn (Kramer) Sabitt. Her family would like to thank the nurses and staff of O'Brien Seven at St. Mary's Hospital for their compassion and care. Arrangements - Funeral Services will be held on Monday, December 14, 2009 at 11 a.m. at the Alderson Funeral Home of Waterbury, 9 Homes Avenue. Burial will follow in Hebrew Benefit Cemetery. Shiva will be observed at the home of Hollye and Larry Lew, 245 Sorghum Mill Drive, Cheshire, CT on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday evenings. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association 2911 Dixwell Ave., Hamden, CT 06518 or to the charity of one's choice.
