Obituary of Edward Casner
Cheshire - Edward H. Casner Sr., 73, of Cheshire, passed away Sunday April 25, 2010 surrounded by his family. Ed now joins his wife Marjorie of 52 years, who predeceased him on December 22, 2009.
Mr. Casner was born May 22, 1936, in Southington the son of the late Edson H. and Mary (Beirne) Casner. Ed was a retired member of the Operating Engineers Local 478 and had retired after many years as an Electrician with the Balf/Tilcon Companies. Ed was also a former member of the Southington Fire Department Company #3 as well as a Communicant of the Church of the Epiphany. Ed also enjoyed camping, gardening and spending time with his children, grandchildren and family.
Mr. Casner is survived by his sons Darrell Hotham of Southington; Edward "Dennis" Casner Jr. and his wife Kim of Cheshire, John "Jack" Casner and his wife Pam of Cheshire, Steven Casner and his wife Renee of Cheshire; his daughters Rhonda Cobourn and her husband Ashton of Wheaton, MD and Margaret "Peggy" Mikolinski and her husband Raymond of Wolcott; his brothers Robert Casner and his wife Jean of Kensington and George Casner and his wife Erma of Cheshire; his sisters Katherine Daddio of Albany, NY and Anne "Nancy" Adams and her husband Leslie of Plantsville; brother-in-law Aldo Copes and his wife Ruth of Waterbury; 19 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews and his dog Princess. Ed is also predeceased by his daughter Donna Jean who predeceased him on October 28, 1976; his brothers John and James; his sister Dorothy; and his brother-in-laws Rick and Vito.
The Casner family would like to extend their heartfeld thanks to the staff of the Highlands Health Care, 3rd Floor, for their love, care and patience to Ed during his stay.
Arrangements - Funeral services will be held on Saturday May 1, 2010 10:45 from the Alderson Funeral Home of Cheshire 615 S. Main St., to Church of the Epiphany for Mass at 11:30 a.m. Burial will follow in St. Thomas Cemetery in Southington. Calling hours will be held on Saturday from 9 a.m. until the procession leaves for church. Memorial Contributions may be made to Cheshire Fire Department 250 Maple Ave., Cheshire, CT 06410.
