Obituary of Ruth Lundin
NAUGATUCK- Mrs. Ruth Elizabeth (Muenzner) Lundin, 95, of Naugatuck, passed away early Monday evening June 7, 2010 at the Glendale Center. She was the widow of Arnold F. Lundin, who passed away in 1987, after 52 years of marriage.
Mrs. Lundin was born in New Haven, Feb. 17, 1915, a daughter of the late Robert and Augusta (Weissgerber) Muenzner and had been a Naugatuck resident since 1935, moving here from West Haven. She was a graduate of West Haven High School and retired in 1980 as Office Manager of the Naugatuck Y.M.C.A. with over 30 years of service.
She was a member of the Salem Lutheran Church and had been active with the Alter Guild and had served on the Finance Committee for many years. She was a 50 year member of the former Evergreen Chapter # 22, Order of the Eastern Star and had affiliated with Goodwill Chapter # 112, O.E.S. She was the First Mother Adviser to the Naugatuck Assembly # 22 International Order of Rainbow for Girls and had been a member of the former Salem Chapter # 1857 AARP.
She leaves one daughter Beryl Montville of Naugatuck and 2 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by another daughter, Elaine L Rook and her sisters, Janet Glime and Ethel Johnson and a grandson E.C. Rook, III.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday June 15th, 2010 at 10:30am at the Salem Lutheran Church, 14 Salem St., Naugatuck. Burial will be in Grove Cemetery, Cross St. Naugatuck. Friends may call at the Church on Tuesday morning from 9:30am until the time of the service. The Alderson Funeral Home of Naugatuck, 201 Meadow St. is in charge of arrangements, In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Organ Fund of the Salem Lutheran Church, 14 Salem St., Naugatuck, 06770.
