Obituary of Eleanor Leslie
WATERBURY; Mrs. Eleanor (Pekrul) Leslie, 79, of Waterbury died peacefully at home on Tuesday, July 13th. She was the beloved wife of Kenneth Robert Leslie for 57 years.
Eleanor was born in Cheshire on November 8th, 1930. She was the daughter of the late Robert and Anna (Noss) Pekrul. She was a graduate of Hendricken Grammar School and Crosby High School in Waterbury. Mrs. Leslie was a longtime member of the Cheshire Lutheran Church where she was a member of the Altar Guild and the Evangelism Committee. She loved being with her husband, family and grandchildren.
Besides her husband, Kenneth, she leaves behind her daughter, Karyl Sadowski and her husband, Walter, and two sons, Kenneth Jr and his wife Lynette, and Scott Leslie, and six grandchildren, Allison, Melissa, Evan, Andrew, Brynn, and Ethan. She is also survived by her sister Mildred Connelly, of Naugatuck and her brother Robert Pekrul of Delaware. She was predeceased by sisters Olga Chabot, Evelyn Luchene, Margaret Copes, and Gertrude Pekrul. The family would like to express sincere gratitude and thanks to two special caregivers, Shelly Guerrera and Sam Carter and also the entire VNA Health at Home Hospice Team of Watertown for their compassion and dedication.
Funeral Services for Eleanor will be held Saturday at 10:00 AM at Cheshire Lutheran Church 660 West Main Street in Cheshire, CT. followed by burial services at Cheshire Hillside Cemetery. Family and friends may call Friday from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the Alderson Funeral Home of Cheshire 615 South Main Street.
