Obituary of Marie Iorillo

CHESHIRE; Mrs. Marie (Donnaruma) Iorillo, 92 of Cheshire, passed away Friday July 30, 2010 at the Skyview Nursing Center in Wallingford. She was the widow of Louis Iorillo. Mrs. Iorillo was born March 22, 1918 in New Haven, a daughter of the late Gaetano and Louise (Miranda) Donnaruma and has been a Cheshire resident since 1984. She was educated in New Haven schools. She was a homemaker who enjoyed cooking. She was a loving and caring woman who treasured her family traditions, which are now being passed to new generations. Mrs. Iorillo was a member of the Jocelyn Square Civic association of New Haven and was a Communicant of Saint Bridget Church in Cheshire. Marie's family would like to thank the staff of the Skyview Nursing Center for their care and support. She leaves her son Anthony Iorillo of Southington, her daughters, Marion Landisio and her husband Carmine and Anne Lana and her husband John both of Cheshire, her grandchildren, Pamela Quinley and her husband Matthew, Lori Voegeli and her husband Curtis, Jonathan Lana and his wife Laura and Erica, Sarah and Mark Iorillo, and her great grandchildren Lindsay and Allison Voegeli and Megan and Danielle Quinley. She was predeceased by her granddaughter Jamie Lana, her brothers, Joseph and Vincent Donnaruma and her sisters, Louise Sirica, Josephine Ney and Lucille Krukowski. A Mass of Christian Burial for Mrs. Iorillo will be held Tuesday at 10 a.m. at Saint Bridget Church 175 Main Street in Cheshire. Friends and family are asked to gather directly at Church. Burial will follow in Saint Bridget Cemetery. Friends may call at the Alderson Funeral Home of Cheshire 615 South Main Street on Monday from 5 to 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Saint Jude Children's Hospital 501 Saint Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105.
