Aunt Edie was always a favorite aunt. As a child we would go to visit her, Aunt Evelyn and Uncle Bob and they were always so fun to visit. They would have soda and candy that we didn't get at home. Their home was so big compared to our house that I marveled at all the wonderful features that made it special. Aunt Edie would always ask how we were doing and listen intently and be so happy for us. I wanted to make sure I made her proud. Edie and Evelyn made Christmas Eve the highlight of our childhood. They decorated the house so beautifully and made those famous "walnetto" cookies for their wonderful party that would bring all the Klein's together for a magical start to the holiday. We loved the grab bags and gifts they would find that were so extraordinary. I remember her smiling face and her dancing a little jig to join in with us kids.
Visits have been less frequent as we've grown, but, whenever we did get together she always would ask how we were doing, hows the kids, how's work, always interested in how we were doing, how well we were getting along. More recently when Beth was getting married she made an extra effort to be sure to get a card to me at work so I could deliver it to Beth and Mike because she and Bob couldn't make the wedding. She was always so thoughtful and sweet. I will miss her and all that she represents in my life. To me she was always a very strong, moral, ethical model. My love to you Aunt Edie as you begin a new journey beyond the vail where so many loved ones await you. Love, Lynn
