Obituary of Kathleen Linhard

WATERBURY - Kathleen "Katy" Marion (Greene) Linhard, 57, of Rosette Street, passed away unexpectedly Tuesday, August 31, 2010 at Mid-State Medical Center in Meriden. She was the devoted wife of Scott T. Linhard. Katy was born July 20, 1953 in Stamford, Connecticut, the daughter of Anne Marie (Smolinski) Greene and the late William A. Greene. She was predeceased by her best friend and Sister Linda Johnson. She worked at DMR in Farmington and Southbury Training School until her retirement. Katy previously resided in Stamford and Naugatuck, before moving to her Waterbury home. Besides her husband of 9 years, she leaves her beloved daughters; Shannon (Frangione) Lopes and her husband Pedro Lopes of Naugatuck; her daughter Nina Lynn Altieri and her partner David McCulloch, Sr. of Waterbury; her step-daughter Christina J. Blasl and her husband Jerry of Waterbury; her step-son Donnie Linhard and his partner Ashley of Waterbury; her cherished grandchildren Mason William Pedro Lopes, Ethan James Pedro Lopes, and Jerry Eugene Blasl, Jr. Katy is also survived by a large extended family including many aunts & uncles, mother in-law Peg Linhard; brother in law Everett Jonson, Sr. of Naugatuck; two nieces Victoria (Johnson) Pricket and family, of Florida, Cheryl (Johnson)Waters and family, of Watertown; nephew; Everett Johnson, Jr. and family, of Waterbury. Katy loved to sing, dance, bowl, and take a ride with Scott on the back of the bike, but most of all she lived life for her daughters, her family and her grandsons. Calling hours will be held on Saturday, September 4th, 2010, from 4:00 - 6:00 p.m. at the Alderson Funeral Home of Naugatuck, 201 Meadow Street. A service will follow at 6:00p.m. Burial will be private and held at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions are made to the Harold Leever Regional Cancer Center, 1075 Chase Parkway, Waterbury, CT 06708.
