To The Dawson Family: I am so sorry that things worked out this way for Rick and all of you. It was always a pleasure to see him in clinic and care for him. I am also very grateful that I was able to meet all of your children. I am also very glad that I was able to see goodbye to him before he left Yale. Please know you all are in my thoughts and prayers. Kelly Derosier, RN

Andy and I have known and loved Rick for 35 years. His brother, Dave, our dear friend, introduced us initially, then Andy and Rick had many happy years of doing business together in the legal/financial world. We will happily remember Rick forever, and wish Patty, Peter and Katie our deepest condolences and love now, while we celebrate Rick's life together.

Having just learned of Rick's passing a few minutes ago from the obituary in the Cheshire Herald, I am still in a state of shock and very sad to know Rick is gone. I knew Rick for 30 years and remember well how generous and helpful he was when I became his Assistant Manager at the Citytrust Branch on South Main St., Cheshire in 1980. I learned much from him and when he moved on to the Waterbury Regional Office and I became Manager of the Cheshire branch, he was always there when I needed advice and guidance. Later on after I had moved on to another bank and gained a senior position there, I recruited Rick away from Citytrust to join American National Bank as a Regional Vice President. He was a trustworthy, competent and loyal employee and a supportive friend. Over the years, as he made several moves within the banking industry, we stayed in touch. After his retirement, we occasionally saw each other in town and mainly at the Main St. Cafe on some mornings. He always greeted me with a smile and sometimes a bearhug. I will miss him very much and only wish that we had spent more time together. He was far too young to leave us. My wife and I express our deepest and most sincere sympathies to his family and those close to him. May he rest in peace. Jose & Aida Rodriguez, Cheshire.

To Rick's family, I had the pleasure of working with Rick at Naugatuck Savings Bank. I will always remember him for his integrity, sincerity, dedication, and sense of humor. He certainly served his family, his country, and the banking and business community well throughout the years. Rick was a true friend and I will miss him.

Dear Woody, I am so sorry for the loss of your brother Richard, and would have attended the service today, but as you know I had surgery on Monday, I still have no feeling in my arm yet so it isn't easy to get dressed and travel, not to mention the medicine. Your brother sounds like a great person, its such a sad thing to loose him , my sincere condolences to you and your family. Pete Petrino

It was most impressive to read of all Rick’s accomplishments. Although we spent many hours at the rinks with him, we never knew any of this. As part of the Wallingford Hawk’s Family, we did know Rick the “Hockey Dad. He was always a true gentlemen and a shining example of what an athlete’s parent should exemplify. We extend to you our sincerest sympathy. The Brockett Family

Please accept our deepest sympathy in the passing of Richie. Fond memories growing up will forever be in our hearts. Cell phones were not needed, a whistle so loud was how neighborhood friends would summons each other. A special memory was the day Richie decided to try out our Dad's wooden ski's and ended up down in the swamp. Know that our hearts are with all of you at this time of loss. Sincerely Bill and Vivian

I wish to express my sincere sympathy to the Dawson Family.Rick was a wonderful man, kind hearted and also listened when you talked. I first met Rick when he was at Naugatuck Savings Bank in Prospect. He has helped my husband with business loans when he first started out and Rick beleived in him and had confidence,he was one heck of a guy.I remember he would always have a smile on his face when ever I walked into the bank always saying hello and asking how things were. When I would go in with my daughter he would always ask for a hug from her always talked about his family. It really saddened me when I heard he was sick and yesterday when we had gotten a phone call from the bank to let us know about Rick my husband and I were devesated.Rick was a stand up guy We will truley miss him.
