Aidemae was a very special person. Being with her for only a few minutes and you would know this. Since we are still in Florida, I will not be able to tell her family how sorry I am for their loss, and that I shall miss her as well. My memories of her will always be her smile, her tenderness, and her capacity to love. Even though she is gone, find comfort in the fact that she is in Heaven putting in a good word for you. Aidamae will be missed by all of us. She was always into conversation with a very positive and happy approach. She was a people person with a very sharp memory, whether the conversation was from the 1940's or present. Aidamae would always share her memories with all the people that she connected with. She enjoyed attending musical events. Aidamae was named after my grandmother Mae and her sister Aida. Aidamae has been like a third grandmother to the Garrigus families. She was one not to miss a party, birthday, holiday or event. Aidamae would bring her famous baked macaroni and cheese. She was usually a little late so we had a solution for her tardiness ,if the party was at 6 o'clock we would tell Aidamae 5 o'clock, and she would arrive right on time.
Aidamae would cherish every bite of food. She would tell everyone how great everything tasted, saying this is "out of this world." She was always the last person finished eating and you wouldn't dare touch her plate until her plate was empty.
I don't recall ever seeing Aidamae angry or mad, maybe frustrated. But she would tell you if something had upset her.
Aidamae was like a sister to my mom Lucille. Only six years apart growing up, in the east end of Waterbury to the present, they would talk for hours about Soap Operas , Uconn Basketball, current events, church, D.A.R. and everything else that was part of their schedules. Aidamae you will be truly missed.
Love,
Your Cousin and Godson,
Paul Garrigus & Family

Aida Mae was a warm and kind women. We were blessed to know her. Every time we saw her she would be so happy to see us. She would reminisce about fun times in the past. She and Olivia had a special connection. Olivia's middle name is Mae and though she did not know her Grandmother for whom she was named, she loved knowing her relative who shared this connection, Aida MAE. Aida Mae always had a gift for Sam, Olivia and Ben when she would see them...a little something she picked up... a coloring book, a cool shirt...she seemed to hit the nail on the head for something these kids would like. They all still have these huge pillows she gave them. This summer when we ate at the shore we had a little wine with our dinner. At one point it seemed as though Aida Mae was very quiet. We asked her if she was ok and she replied..." it's the WINE" We did chuckle about that. When we got to Uncle Jack's that night she was in her element. She strolled out to the point and when she was done with that she wiggled her toes in the sand and breathed in the salt air. This is our last memory of Aida Mae and it is one we treasure. May God bless her soul.

Faith and Jon, Your Mom was a very special person. I have many fond memories as a child of our families being together. I remember your home as a loving, peaceful place. Hold on to those wonderful times and memories you've made with your Mom through this difficult transition. It is not an easy one and know there are many who hold you in their thoughts and prayers. I'm sure she and your Dad are smiling down on you. Lots of love. Martha

Faith, please accept my sincere condolences on the loss of you wonderful mother. Though I did not know her well personally, I feel that I knew her through the many stories and anecdotes that you shared with me over the years. She was a strong personality and a force to be admired on many levels. May the memory of her vivaciousness and interest in all things be a source of strength to both you and your brother. Sincerely, Janet.
