Obituary of Dennis Molen

BEACON FALLS- Mr. Dennis C. Molen, II, 46 of Beacon Falls, passed away Saturday Oct. 9, 2010 at his home. Mr. Molen was born in Monongahela, PA, June 6, 1952 , a son Dennis C. and Rose (Dowler) Molen and had been a resident of Beacon Falls since 1995, moving here from Seymour. He was a peacetime veteran having served in the U.S. Marine Corps and then the U.S. Army. He was a retired employee of the Dept of Corrections, retiring in 2009 with over 20 years of service. He had previously served with the Federal Dept. of Corrections and the Pennsylvania Dept of Corrections. He was a communicant of St. Francis of Assisi Church in Naugatuck and served as a Eucharistic Minister and a Lector. He had coached Little League and Hockey and was a Black Belt in Karate. Besides his parents of Seymour, he is survived by two sons, Dennis C. Molen, III and Nicholas E. Molen both of Woodbury; 3 sisters, Monna Porter of Okalahoma City, OK., Jan O'Brien of Branford, and Wendy Russo of North Haven; 8 nieces and nephews and several great-nieces and great-nephews; his dog Gizmo and his former wife Jacqueline (Bettler) Molen. His funeral will be held on Thursday Oct. 14th at 10:15 am from the Alderson Funeral Home of Naugatuck, 201 Meadow St. and proceed to St. Francis of Assisi Church 318 Church St. for a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 am. Burial with full military honors will be in Mt. St. Peter's Cemetery, 219 New Haven Ave., Derby. Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday Oct. 13 from 5 to 8 pm. Members of St. Francis Eucharistic Ministers will meet at the funeral home on Wednesday at 5 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Francis of Assisi Church, 318 Church St., Naugatuck, 06770-2805
