Bill took a chance and hired me to work at the US Civil Service Commission when I was just 17 years old. I learned a lot from him. He treated me and all the women under his wing with such sweetness, a lot of fun, and a ton of respect. May God comfort you during this time of loss.

Dear Maureen, Billy and Patti-Ann: I sit here with tears streaming down my face upon hearing the news of your Dad's passing. I was fortunate to work with your Dad for many years at the OPM Office in Portsmouth. He played a huge role in shaping my career. I have thought of him many times over the years. I am so sorry to hear of his passing. All of you were the light in his life. He always spoke so proudly of his sons, his daughter and her husband, his grandchildren and Patti-Ann, I know he thought of you as a daughter! My deepest sympathy to you all as I know this has probably been a difficult journey for you. I will carry warm and wonderful memories of Mr. Hayes with me.
