The last time I saw Petie, I was taking him to the train station to go to Philly. It was in June. He and I had a good conversation, taking in things across the time we had spent together in our lives. He was part of my life for 33 years, longer than a lot of relationships. He was on the hiring committee for my first real job. I always thought he hated me at that interview, but as I went up the ladder successfully he always took credit for the original hire. He liked to put on the bad boy image, but he didn't have the heart to carry it off all that well. I had the pleasure of being in the immediate circle when he had Jillian, and later Lindsey. They were the first two babies in my life. He loved all three of his kids, they always came first, and he was prouder of you all than anything else. We listened to Warren Zevon's last album on that trip. It's titled "Life will kill ya'". Although he was dodging a lot of truth telling about his health,he knew what was ahead, and the cuts about the doctor talking to the patient & the title song made him laugh anyhow. He saw the irony in it. There are some people that come into your life and you aren't half as good without them. Petie is one of them for me.

Today I received a thank you note for a contribution made in Petey's name to the Cheshire Animal Shelter. Alberta (Bert) Hulteen is a good friend of mine. Her late husband and my late husband were college friends that lasted until they both died (within a year of each other ---I thought it was really nice - and since Petey and I had visited the shelter a couple of times - it's very appropriate. Thank you Bert.

I know my dad lived his life to the fullest. It was easy for him to do..As his daughter i know myself, its that easy as well to enjoy eveyday. Every Sunday we talked, mostly football. I know though he suffered. Not with the people that loved him but with his addiction. He had so much love, for me and know he tried the best he knew how to. I loved him in return as much as I knew. I will always, and if you ever had the chance to know him, as a person you will feel blessed. What an amazining person, biggest heart, and so much love to give. I feel blessed to have such a wonderful father. He was so kind, and showed that in his own way. But unique, which is so hard find. Dad I miss you more then you'll ever know....Love you biggest fan XO

Jon "Petey" was one of the special people in my life. A sharp wit and a great sense of humor. We spent a lot of time on the patio of the Waverly, having a smoke. Of course, one of my family members usually had to come out to remind us to join them. We would get to talking and not realize how much time went by. He will be greatly missed by many people who loved him.

I received a card today from Dr. Sack - The card was addressed to the family and said "May memories of your loved one comfort you and bring you peace." Then Dr. Sack wrote "My staff and I will miss caring for Jon. He was not always the ideal patient, but was always pleasant and appreciative; he was obviously dear to all of you and I know you did all you could. Sincerely, David Sack

What can we say he was a kind and gentle man who i have known since i was a kid. He came back into Jean's life at a special time and made her very happy. He bought our motorcycle at least three times and we did not even know it was him. He will be sadly missed as a kind sole. Ronnie & Peggy

I loved Petey from the first day Jean brought him home when I was 12. He was my first crush and stayed that way for a long time. When he came back into our lives six years ago, my crush was still there and I loved him til the day he died. I will miss you Petey. RIP
