Obituary of Edward Norville

CHESHIRE- Edward E. Norville Jr., 94, passed away Thursday, December 9, 2010 at The Highlands Health Care Center in Cheshire. He was predeceased by his wife Anne (Spillane) Norville. Edward was born September 26, 1916 in Waterbury. He graduated from Crosby High School where he excelled in Track and played several sports with the Fulton Park Athletic Club. He was a veteran of the U.S Navy having served with the "Seabees" in World War II. Ed was also a veteran of the Okinawa Campaign 125th Battalion. He worked at Chase Metal Works in Waterbury for 41 years where he held many positions mainly as a Metallurgist Technician. He was a parishioner of St. Bridget Church in Cheshire; he was a member of the VFW in Waterbury and Yalesville. He was an avid Baseball and New York Yankee fan. The Norville family would like to express a heartfelt thank you to The Highland Health Care Center for all the care they showed Ed during his stay. Ed is survived by two sons John Edward and his wife Louise (Ciarleglio) Norville of Ormond Beach, FL and Edward Carl Norville of Astor, FL; a daughter in law Deborah (Cutler) Norville of Wolcott; five loving grandchildren; and five loving great grandchildren. Ed was predeceased by his son Robert Thomas Norville. Arrangements- Funeral Services for Ed will be held Thursday, December 16, 2010 at The Alderson Funeral Home of Cheshire, 615 South Main St, 06410 at 10 A.M. Burial will follow in All Saints Cemetery, 203 Spring Lake Road, Waterbury, 06706. Calling hours will be held Wednesday, December 15, 2010 from 6 to 8 P.M at the funeral home.
