Obituary of Quintina Sciascia

CHESHIRE - Quintina "Quin" Sciascia, 86, passed away Saturday morning May 5, 2012 at CT Hospice in Branford. She was the wife of the late Anthony G. Sciascia Sr. Mrs. Sciascia was born October 30, 1925 in New Haven the daughter of the late Nazzerano and Eva (Birarelli) Angeletti. She was a longtime resident of East Haven, but more recently resided in Cheshire for the past 12 years, where she was a communicant of St. Thomas Beckett Church. She was a very proud mother of her three sons. Quin was active with her children as a former Cub Scout Den Mother and the Notre Dame High School Mother's Club, where she served as President. She was a member of the Notre Dame Alumni Mother's Club; Our Lady of Pompeii Ladies Guild and was a volunteer at Connecticut Hospice in Branford; and employed by Bayer Pharmaceuticals of West Haven for 25 years. Mrs. Sciascia is survived by her sons Anthony and his wife Karen of Cheshire, Michael and his wife Patty of Cheshire and Roger and his wife Linda of Wallingford; her brothers Primo "Pete" Angeletti of New Haven and Attilio "Art" Angeletti of Wallingford; as well as her seven grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. She is predeceased by her brothers Segundo and Primo and two great-grand children. Arrangements - Funeral services will be held on Tuesday May 8, 2012, 9:15 from the Alderson Funeral Home of Cheshire, 615 S. Main St. to St. Bridget Church for Mass at 10 a.m. Entombment will follow in All Saints Cemetery in North Haven. Calling hours will be held on Monday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
