Obituary of Anne Stotz
NAUGATUCK- Mrs. Anne (Rozum) (Dietrich) Stotz, 96, of Naugatuck, passed away Tuesday Feb. 15, 2011 at Masonicare of Wallingford. She was the widow of the late Ralph Stotz.
Mrs. Stotz was born in Waterbury, April 14, 1914, a daughter of the late Thomas and Florence (Swigar) Rozum and was a Naugatuck resident since 1957. During World War II, she served as a Russian Translator in Washington, DC. She was a retired Uniroyal-Footwear employee, having worked in the central office for over 38 years. She was a member of the Congregational Church of Naugatuck and was a 50 year member of the Order of the Eastern Star, having served two terms as Worthy Matron of Evergreen Chapter # 22, formerly of Naugatuck and presently a member of Goodwill Chapter # 112 of Watertown. She had also served on the Board of the Rainbow Girls Assembly in Naugatuck. She was an active volunteer for over 25 years with the Waterbury Hospital Auxiliary, a Girl Scout leader in Prospect, a former member of the Prospect Grange, and had served as volunteer at the Prospect Town Hall for a number of years.
She leaves two daughters, Maria Durley of Bethany and Maureen Murray of Garden Grove, CA; one brother Alex Rozum and one sister, Eve Smith, both of Prospect; 7 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews, and great-nieces and great-nephews. She was predeceased a brother, Andrew Rozum and 4 sisters, Mary Baker, Irene Rigon, Julia Wislocki, and Helen Charron.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday May 21, 2011 at 2 pm at the Congregational Church of Naugatuck, 9 Division St. Burial will be in Grove Cemetery at the convenience of the family. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may, be made to The Grand Chapter, Order of the Eastern Star, P.O. Box 123, Plymouth, CT 06782-0143 or to Masonicare Home & Hospice, 33 North Plains Industrial Rd., Wallingford, 06492. The Alderson Funeral Home of Naugatuck, 201 Meadow St. is assisting the family with the arrangements.For
