Obituary of Margaret Anderson
HAMDEN; Mrs. Margaret "Pege" (Murphy) (Lovett) Anderson, 86 formerly of Hamden and Waterbury passed away Monday March 7, 2011 at Valerie Manor in Torrington. She was the widow of Joseph Lovett who was killed in action in France during WWII.
Mrs. Anderson was born April 28, 1924 in Waterbury a daughter of the late Thomas and Katherine (Ladden) Murphy and was a longtime Waterbury resident having lived with the Tully family until 1940. She was a graduate of Saint Mary's Grammar School as well as Waterbury Catholic High School and attended Hunters College in New York. She was a US Navy veteran serving during WWII and was a secretary at the New Haven Superior Court retiring in 1987 after many years of service. Mrs. Anderson was a Communicant of the Basilica of the Immaculate Conception where she was a member of the Catholic Women's Guild.
She leaves several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Anderson was predeceased by her sisters.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday at 10 a.m. at the Basilica of the Immaculate Conception 74 West Main Street in Waterbury. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery in Waterbury. There are no calling hours. If desired memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor's choice. The Mulville Funeral Home 270 West Main Street has care of arrangements.
